started the year 0-4 with the Expos and had been sent to Triple-
A Indianapolis for more seasoning. The Mariners injected him
into their starting rotation and Randy immediately won his first
three AL games.
When Randy, who is 6'10", made his first start for the Expos
in a September trial in '88, he made major league history as
the game's tallest player ever. He won that game and two
others to end the season with a 3-0 record. Earlier in '88,
Randy ranked fifth in the American Association in K's.
