1990 Score Joe Magrane Baseball Card #17 Like-New Condition. Ships USP First-Class.Joe, a humorous southpaw with good heat and a big curve, became the ace of the Cardinals in '89. At one point, he had a six-game winning streak. Joe missed most of the first half of '88 with a torn muscle in his right side, and failed to get much hitting support when he did pitch. The Cardinals averaged only 2.75 runs per game in his 24 starts, the lowest rate in the NL. But Joe persevered, averaging just 7.7 base runners a game and holding opponents to a 217 BA. The result: the lowest ERA in the league and the fewest wins ever by an ERA leader. A year earlier, Joe became the first rookie in 35 years to start the first and seventh games of the World Series.
