Cleveiand seiected Snyder a star for three years at Brigham Young, fourth overall in the 1984 draft. He piayed on the U.S. Olympic team that produced sorne fine major leaguers. Snyder climbed through the minors quickly and hit 24 homers after the Tribe recalled him June 12 1986. The blonde slugger finished fourth in the Rookie of the Year balloting and followed with 33 home runs and 82 RBI the next season. Alter rotating between shortstop, third base and the outfield, the Indians wisely planted Snyder in right field in 1968. He has an outstanding arm and was enjoying another fine year until it was disrupted by a late-season injury.
